Itinerary ( B = breakfast, D = dinner )
DAY 1: Casablanca airport – Hotel
Meet and greet at the Casablanca airport, then begin the city tour with an outside
visit to Hassan II mosque. Continue to the Ain Diab Corniche for a pleasant stroll
along the coast. Go on to Mohammed V Square in the city center. Overnight at
hotel.
DAY 2: Casablanca – Rabat B
After breakfast, transfer to the capital of Morocco, Rabat. Enjoy the city tour
starting with a short walk around the entrance to the Royal Palace. Continue to
Mohammed V Mausoleum followed by the Hassan II Tower, one of the oldest
mosques left in existence. Complete the city tour with a visit to the Kasbah of the
Udayas, Rabat’s medina. Overnight in Rabat.
DAY 3: Rabat – Meknes – Fes B
After breakfast, transfer to Meknes. Stop to take pictures of the massive Bab El
Mansour gate. The city tour of Meknes includes the Harri Souani stables, the
medina, and the Royal Palace. Continue along to the UNESCO-sponsored Roman
ruins in Volubilis where you will have a guided tour. Transfer to Fes overnight.
DAY 4: Fes (city tour) B
Enjoy the tour of Fes with a local guide. The tour includes the entrance to the
biggest royal palace in Morocco. Continue the tour with a panoramic view of the old
medina, before venturing to the heart of the largest old medina in the world.
There, you will visit the Jamaa Al-Karaouine––the world’s first established
university––and a Medersa (a Koranic school), not to mention the tanneries, clay
workshops, artisan quarters, and souks. Dinner and overnight in Fes.
DAY 5: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga B,D
After breakfast, transfer to the heart of the desert. The trip takes you through the
middle Atlas mountains, a cider forest, and many Amazigh cities and villages. Stop
first at Ifrane, nicknamed “Morocco’s Switzerland”. Ifrane is a charming ski town
populated by European-style chalets and surrounded by a large cider forest.
Continue through Azrou to Midelt where you will stop for an optional lunch.
Transfer along the Ziz River, passing through a series of fortified villages before
getting to Erfoud. Continue through Rissani to Merzouga for dinner and overnight
in an auberge by the dunes.
NB: you can stay in a desert camp with round-trip 4x4 transfers from Erfoud.
DAY 6: Merzouga – Tinghir B,D
Enjoy an optional early morning sunrise camel ride along the golden sand dunes
in Merzouga. Return to the auberge for breakfast before driving to Tinghir via
Rissani and Tinjdad. Tinghir is a gorgeous, 40km oasis, which boasts one of the
largest palm groves in the country. Enjoy walking at the famous Todra Gorge, a
300m wall, carved deep into the High Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight in
Tinghir.
DAY 7: Tinghir – Dades – Kelaat M’Gouna – Ouarzazate B,D
After breakfast, enjoy the visit to the oasis before leaving for Dades and its
charming valley. Continue along to Kelaat M’Gouna, a large village famous for
cultivating roses. Expect to find many fine, rose-infused products there. Transfer to
Ouarzazate, also known as “Morocco’s Hollywood,” for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Taroudant B
Enjoy the city tour of Ouarzazate, beginning with the Taourirt Kasbah. The latter is
considered one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in the country. Next, visit the film
studios, where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being
shot. Continue on to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou, the iconic
landscape immortalized in such films as, Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Leave
Ait Ben Haddou to Taliouine, an Amazigh village famous for cultivating saffron.
Continue to Taroudant overnight.
DAY 9: Taroudant – Agadir – Essaouira B
After breakfast, cross the city’s characteristic ramparts to begin touring the souks
where some of Morocco’s most talented craftsmen tend their art. Transfer to Agadir
where you may enjoy an optional lunch near the beach. Visit the birds' valley then
leave for Essaouira along the Atlantic coast. Overnight in Essaouira.
DAY 10: Essaouira – Marrakech B
Enjoy most of the day at leisure in Essaouira. This relatively small, easily navigable
city is ideal for a free day. But be sure to ask your guide for some city highlights—
there are many. Essaouira has got a distinct multicultural feel, resulting from the
large Portuguese, French, and Jewish populations that once called it home. Its mild
climate and expansive stretches of ocean sand also place it among Morocco’s top
beach towns. Late in the afternoon, transfer to Marrakech for overnight.
DAY 11: Marrakech (city tour) B
After breakfast, begin the day guided tour of Marrakech with the world-famous
Jemaa el Fna Square houses an array of food, snake charmers, local
musicians, and fortune-tellers. Next, visit the Koutoubia Minaret, Bahia Palace, and
the Saadian Tombs, before going to the medina to spend free time in the souks.
Overnight in the Marrakech.
DAY 12: Marrakech – Casablanca B
Enjoy the morning to relax in the hotel in Marrakech or wander on your own.
Afternoon transfer to Casablanca overnight.
DAY 13: Casablanca airport B
After breakfast, we will assist you to the Casablanca airport for your return flight.
